Join us for our all-new 6-week Folk Florals Tambour Beading Course. Immerse yourself in the rich tradition of this age-old technique as you bring to life intricate folk floral designs using the mesmerizing art of Tambour Beading.

Throughout this comprehensive course, you will unravel the secrets of properly setting up your Tambour Embroidery frame, a crucial foundation for creating flawless tambour beadwork. Dive into the delicate process of transferring the essence of folk florals onto sumptuous fabrics, expertly utilizing the tambour hook to achieve impeccable precision in every embellishment.

With our new weekly sessions, you'll explore a diverse range of folk-inspired floral motifs, skilfully adorning them with an array of radiant bead colours. From dainty wildflowers to bold blossoms, you'll create your own piece of intricate beadwork that captures the spirit of traditional folk art. Guided by our professional tambour beading artisans, you'll receive expert support as you craft your own unique folk floral compositions exploring your creativity with your own colour choices with our stunning selection of beads and sequins.

The techniques taught within this course include: Setting up a slate frame, Design transfer, how to apply beads and sequins with a Tambour hook (amongst others)

You will be guided through the process of setting up a couture embroidery slate frame. You will also be taught how to transfer your design onto fabric. Our expert tutors will the guide you through the process of creating your own piece of beautiful Tambour embroidery showing you every step of the process from starting to use a Tambour Hook to adding crystallised final details.

All of the materials you need for this class will be provided for you as part of your course experience. You are more than welcome to bring your own embroidery equipment if you would rather use your own materials but everything will be provided for you.

Tutor Profiles

Our bespoke online classes are taught by expert hand embroiderers who have worked in the couture industry for brands such as Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Dior, Valentino, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, YSL, Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana, Schiaparelli, Lanvin and Burberry to name a few. The classes will cover the basics, insider tips and practical application making sure students are fully equipped to go on and apply what they have learned to their own garments and develop their own unique styles. Our tutors are work embroiderers first and tutors second which means they are able to give you a unique insight into the magical world of couture hand embroidery.

Accessibility

Our in person classes are taught in our school which is located upstairs in our studio. Unfortunately the building does not have lift access, so use of the stairs would be necessary.
