Goldwork is a beautiful traditional hand embroidery technique which is used to apply rich metals onto a fabric with stitch. An art that was traditionally made for military and ecclesiastical wear is now commonly found in couture and bespoke embroidery.
For more information about our courses check out our FAQ here.
Join Amy for a three hour introductory goldwork session, perfect for those who are unfamiliar with the technique and would like to have a taster. You will learn about and stitch down three different goldwork materials to create a delicate three-dimensional floral design with a touch of beading, alongside a chance to discuss and look at the other possibilities of goldwork applications for potential future learning.
All of the materials you need for this class will be provided for you as part of your course experience. You are more than welcome to bring your own embroidery equipment if you would rather use your own materials but everything will be provided for you.
