‘Hearts & Flowers’ - An Introduction to Surface Stitched Embroidery
Surface Stitches, or ‘freestyle embroidery’, is such a versatile technique, and lends itself to a huge variety of styles, subject matter and objects. To work this cheerful posy of delicate flowers, you will learn a variety of traditional surface stitches: Stem Stitch, Detached Chain, French Knots and Seeding Stitch. On completion, you will be able to stitch the pretty heart on to your jacket or bag, turn it into a special card, lavender sachet, or frame it to become a work of art!
The event is open from Wednesday 3rd Nov - Sunday 7th November
(Thurs closed from 5pm)
Bargehouse is partially accessible. The venue has two disabled toilets and a STANNAH stair-lift which provides access for wheelchair users to the first and second floors only. The stair-lift is for standard manual wheelchairs and cannot be used with motorised chairs or scooters.
Talks will be held on the third floor with no disabled access.
