|London Craft Week 2019 Open House
Guided tours of the Hand & Lock atelier (11am + 2pm)
Over the course of five days, London’s oldest embroidery house will open their doors and allow the general public a rare chance to see the working atelier in action. The company has been trusted for over 250 years to make breathtaking ceremonial embroideries for the Royal family, military accoutrements for the Royal forces, monogramming for Savile Row tailors and exquisite fashion embroidery for top European designers. Visitors to the central London studio can also view a small exhibition of the latest cutting edge embroidery from around the world. Brought together especially for the week the exhibit features award winning sustainable embroidery art and fashion. Access to the studio is free with guided tours throughout the week at £15 per person. The tours will include a history of the company and the discipline of embroidery as well as a specialist talk from a Hand & Lock embroidery designer and a demonstration by one of our skilled embroiderers.
