As one of the most popular embroidery techniques in bridal wear, Lace Appliqué stands out for its versatility, practicality and efficiency; offering the benefits of covering large surfaces in a less time
consuming process. Using this technique allows the clients to choose from ready-made patterns to create their own lace appliqué, as well as from bespoke embroidery if desired.
In this workshop, Romina will explore the different possibilities that Lace appliqué offers. The students will create a unique lace Appliqué sample, being able to select from several lace patterns and will be encouraged to experiment with different textures on their canvas.

Day 1- Part 1: Introduction to the Lace Appliqué technique, exploring the different fabrics that can be used for this technique and their visual effects.
Day 1 - Part 2: Pining the design motifs onto the canvas to start stitching a unique and individual Bridal Lace Appliqué prototype.

Day 2 - Part 1: Technical approach to the creative process; efficient stitch, clean finishings and 3D experimentation.

Day 2 - Part 2: How to apply the previous technique and consequent sample to a bridal piece, introducing a basic notion of designing/constructing around the wearer's body.

All of the materials you need for this class will be provided for you as part of your course experience. You are more than welcome to bring your own embroidery equipment if you would rather use your own materials but everything will be provided for you.
