Monogramming Level One
Suitable for beginners and novices alike.

Monogramming is a wonderful way to personalise your own scarves, pillow cases, napkins or socks. Hand & Lock will teach you how to set your frame, transfer your chosen letters to the material and then show you how to stitch out your letters in the traditional way.
Hand & Lock’s three day class will share our impressive know how and experience in this field. This is a rare chance to learn from a highly experienced master of the art. The classes cover the basics, insider tips and practical application making sure students are fully equipped to go on to apply what they have learned to their own garments and develop their own unique styles.
Classes take place Williamsburg School of Needlework, 5121 Center Street, Suite 100, Williamsburg, Virginia 23188, USA
Day 1. Constructing a full size embroidery frame, drawing designs, transferring drawn designs using the traditional prick and pounce technique, then starting work on two monogramming styles, Fishtale and Block font.
Day 2. Practising and perfecting the monogramming stitches while focusing on the classic Script Font
Day 3. We move onto the larger French monograms and learning how to apply monograms to your own personal projects.

Classes run 10.00 - 4.30 with all course materials provided. Upon completion of the class students can request an official Hand & Lock certificate detailing the new skills mastered.
