Hand & Lock is celebrating 250 years of embroidery and in celebration, Hand & Lock will be hosting a unique exhibition at the Bishopsgate Institute in London displaying both technically outstanding and beautiful pieces from around the world. The exhibit will highlight Hand & Lock’s role at the forefront of fashion and military embroidery for the last 250 years, showcase drafts, samples as well as historical ledgers from private archives. Many of the pieces on display range from contemporary high-end designers and tailors who have commissioned Hand & Lock to military uniforms embroidered and embellished by Hand & Lock as well as work produced
for the British Royal Family. Also on display shall be tools and publications documenting "how-to's" for particular techniques, highlighting how embroidery has largely embraced and remained in tune with its roots.
In addition, the exhibitions will include a special exhibit featuring specially commissioned unique designer bags embellished
in an array of techniques in celebration of the 250th anniversary which will later be auctioned for a charitable cause.
This exhibition is a rare and exciting opportunity to see some of the finest embroideries in the world.
